Money talk: Stripchat pays us a share of what readers spend after joining through our buttons. The score below is the same one it gets in our ranking.
Our verdict in short
Stripchat is the cam site that seems to have thought of everything. It claims more than 100,000 models, and when we checked, about 9,650 rooms were live at once, so whatever your taste and whatever the hour, someone stunning is on. Then come the toys: Cam2Cam video calls with a huge pool of models, real-time control of interactive toys, recordable private shows, a spy mode to peek into privates, group and ticket shows, polls and games, and even a VR section you can enjoy straight from the browser with a headset.
Joining is free and needs no card, public rooms are open, and an hourly draw hands out 50 free tokens. When you want more, you can pay by card in any currency, with crypto or with a gift card. It is our number one cam site, and the place we would send anyone who wants the widest choice of models and features.
Overall score: 8.0/10.

The method: we rate five criteria out of 10, weight them equally and base every score on Stripchat’s own pages, read on 2026-10-04. It is the same grid and the same 8.0 as in our ranking of the best cam sites.
What is Stripchat?
Stripchat is a live adult webcam platform where independent performers, couples and studios broadcast public shows that anyone can open, while members use tokens to tip, book private sessions, control toys or unlock exclusive content. Its footer talks about over 150,000 amateurs, professionals and couples every month; its About page claims more than 100,000 models. Either way, the catalog is vast.
Categories cover girls, couples, guys and trans performers, and a rich set of filters sits on top: price bracket, Cam2Cam availability, recordable privates, interactive toys, VR and more. A live counter in the header shows how many rooms are on air; ours read about 9,650 on the homepage and 9873 on the tokens page later the same day.
The company behind it is a limited company registered in the Republic of Cyprus under number HE 349515, according to the privacy policy.
How Stripchat works
The flow is quick and familiar:
- Browse for free. The homepage lists live rooms with filters. Stripchat’s own copy says join free and create a free account to interact.
- Create a free account. It unlocks chat, follows and the messenger, with no card needed.
- Pick up tokens when you want more. Tokens pay for tips, private and group shows, toy control, paid messages and exclusive photos or videos.
- Play in the room. Tip menus show what a model offers for a set number of tokens, and timed shows run per second or per minute.
- Leave whenever you like. Exiting a timed show ends it, and the show also stops on its own when your balance reaches zero.
Tokens and payment options
Tokens are Stripchat’s one currency, bought in packs and spent everywhere on the site. The public tokens page does not print pack prices, but it does promise that bigger packs bring bigger discounts, “up to 30% and more”. Third-party summaries put the price at about $0.11 per token on small packs and about $0.08 on large ones; the purchase screen shows the exact figures.
Paying is wonderfully flexible. The tokens page lists cards in any currency and crypto: Bitcoin, USDT, USDC, Ethereum, Solana, Ripple and 40+ other coins. You can also buy a Stripchat gift card through UgiftHub, or send a token package straight to a friend. Billing runs through Paymentico, Epoch and SegPay, so one of those names may appear on your statement.
The official freebie is an hourly draw for 50 free tokens, a nice little bonus for active members. If you like a pack refilled automatically, an optional auto-refill tops your balance up when it drops below a level you choose, and you can switch it off in Settings whenever you like.
Show types: private, spy, group and ticket
Private shows
A private show is your one-on-one time with a model, billed per second or per minute at the rate she posts. The homepage filters group rates into brackets of 8-12, 16-24, 32-60 and 90+ tokens, so you can browse by budget before you even open a room.
Spy mode
Spy mode is one of Stripchat’s most tempting extras: you can watch a private show already underway without interacting, billed per second or per minute. It is a discreet way to enjoy the intensity of a private for less, and a great way to discover a performer before booking your own.
Group and ticket shows
Group shows let several members share a paid session, billed per second or per minute at the room’s rate, and ticket shows let you buy a seat for a scheduled performance. Shared shows have their own thrill: the whole room is in on the moment.
Cam2Cam and recordable privates
Stripchat’s “Video Call (Cam2Cam)” filter showed about 6,700 models available when we checked, the largest verified Cam2Cam pool among the sites we compare. Switch on your camera and the session turns into a face-to-face encounter, with real reactions on both sides.
A separate “Recordable Privates” filter lists models who let you keep your show. The terms say recordings are for personal use, and that a recording you bought stays yours even if the model later deletes her account, which makes a special night something you can revisit.
Interactive toys
Stripchat’s About page says you can control models’ interactive toys in real time, and the “Interactive Toy” category gathers the performers who offer it. You tip, the toy responds, and you see the reaction live on screen. The tip menu in each room shows what the model has set up, so you know exactly which tip triggers what.
VR cams
Stripchat’s VR section is a rare treat: 136 rooms were live in VR when we checked. Stripchat says VR shows can be enjoyed right in the browser with a headset, with no extra app, and the sense of presence feels remarkably close to sitting in the room. Few cam sites in our comparison offer anything similar.
Polls, games, levels and messenger
Beyond shows, Stripchat adds a social layer. Polls let viewers vote on what happens next, interactive games add playful tip mechanics, and user levels and leagues reward your activity with perks. The messenger lets you chat with other users at no extra charge; messaging models depends on your level, and some models set a token fee per message, charged for each item you send.
Is Stripchat free?
Largely, yes. Watching public rooms costs nothing, creating an account is free with no card, and the hourly 50-token draw can give you a head start. Tokens come in for the more personal moments: tips, private, spy, group and ticket shows, Cam2Cam, toy control, paid messages and exclusive photos or videos. If you are curious how this free-first, tip-driven model compares across platforms, our guide to what Chaturbate is explains the approach Stripchat shares.
Stripchat on your phone
There is no store app to download. Instead, Stripchat offers an installable web app for iPhone, Android and desktop from its app page. It runs from the browser, sits on your home screen like an app, and keeps your adult viewing out of your app store history.
Is Stripchat legit and safe?
Yes. Stripchat is a genuine, large platform run by a company registered in Cyprus (HE 349515), with public Terms of Use (last modified August 21st, 2026) and a privacy policy. A 2257 record-keeping statement is linked on every page, and the minimum age is 18, or the local age of majority if higher.
Performers are checked before they go live: the terms describe a third-party KYC verification plus manual moderation, and the footer states that all models have contractually confirmed they are 18 or older. Uploaded photos and videos are moderated before publication, and a computer vision system flags possibly harmful live content to moderators in real time. Where age checks are required, verification providers process your data and Stripchat only receives a confirmation. The privacy policy also states that Stripchat has never sold and will never sell your personal data. Paying in crypto adds an extra layer of discretion if you want it.
Good to know
- Pack prices appear on the purchase screen rather than the public tokens page.
- Other members can spy on a private show without interacting.
- Some models set a token fee for messages.
- Your public profile is visible to other members, so keep it as anonymous as you like.
- Questions about your data go to [email protected].
Stripchat vs Jerkmate
These two sites suit different moods. Jerkmate is a matchmaker: a short quiz points you to models who fit your taste, the shows run on a Streamate-powered platform, and every price reads in dollars because 1 Gold = $1, with discounts on booked blocks of private time. Its sign-up includes a card, which opens the premium side straight away.
Stripchat is the explorer’s paradise: a free account with no card, a bigger live catalog, crypto payments, VR and recordable privates. If you love to roam, start here; if you want to be introduced to your type and settle into one-on-one time, Jerkmate scores a strong 7.8/10 in our ranking and is our featured matching pick. Our Jerkmate review and the walkthrough of how Jerkmate works tell its story.
Stripchat vs Chaturbate
Chaturbate is Stripchat’s closest cousin: free public rooms, tokens, tips and private shows. Chaturbate is run by a US company, Multi Media, LLC, and its private brackets start at 6 tokens per minute, with privates recorded for the buyer by default.
Stripchat pulls ahead on extras: crypto and gift cards, a much bigger Cam2Cam pool, toy control, spy mode and VR. If you like Chaturbate’s spirit and want more toys to play with, Stripchat is the natural upgrade. For more sites in the same style, see our list of sites like Chaturbate.
